Said Jafary Mfinanga is the heart and soul behind Safari Expert Tanzania, a company built on passion, experience, and a deep love for the wild. With over 10 years of guiding experience across Tanzania’s most iconic parks, Said has led countless travelers on unforgettable journeys through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and beyond.
Born and raised near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Said grew up surrounded by nature, hearing the distant roars of lions and the stories of the great migration from elders in his village. This early connection to wildlife inspired him to become a safari guide — not just as a job, but as a calling.
One of Said’s most unforgettable moments came in the Serengeti, guiding a young family on their very first game drive. As they watched in awe, a pride of lions slowly approached their vehicle. The children were nervous — until Said calmly explained the lions’ behavior and reassured them with a smile. Moments later, a lioness lay down just meters away from the car, completely at peace. The family’s fear turned into wonder, and that day, Said didn’t just guide a safari — he sparked a lifelong love of wildlife in a new generation.
