Overview

Arusha National Park is one of the smaller parks of Tanzania and is a popular destination for day trips due to its proximity to Moshi and Arusha. Despite its size, the park offers spectacular landscape and diverse wildlife. The park includes the slopes, summit and ash cone of Mount Meru which is the second highest peak in Tanzania at 4,566m above sea level.

Location: 80km from Moshi (1.5 hours drive). Covers 137km2.

Attractions: Wildlife, Mount Meru, Momela Lakes (flamingos), water streams, Ngurudoto Crater, and the 'Small Serengeti' plains.

Activities: Game viewing, bird watching, walking safaris.
