Tarangire National Park is well known for its big groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them. Besides, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why in this season in Tarangire you can see groups of up to 250 elephants next to many more animals! The park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and over 550 bird species. Your guide will take you on morning and afternoon game drives, seeking out the best wildlife viewing spots. The diverse landscape ranges from grassy plains to wooded hills, providing habitats for an incredible variety of animals.

Lake Manyara National Park lies between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, right along the 400 meters deep Great Rift Valley. The park boasts a variety of landscapes that attract many different animals. You can for example visit the lake that covers 75 percent of the park, pass through a dense rainforest with hundreds of monkeys and birds, and see elephants up close in the woodlands. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior found in very few places in Africa. Flocks of flamingos create a stunning pink carpet on the lake shore, while hippopotamuses bask in the shallow waters. Your guide will navigate the diverse ecosystems, from the groundwater forest to the open grasslands, ensuring you experience the full variety of this remarkable park.

The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! Once in the crater, thousands of animals such as lions, zebras, buffalos and black rhinos surround you, and the views are astounding - you will not know where to look! The crater floor spans 260 square kilometers and is home to approximately 25,000 large animals. Your guide will descend 600 meters into the crater for a full day of game driving, where you will have the opportunity to spot the Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. The crater walls provide a dramatic backdrop to this natural amphitheater, creating one of the most spectacular wildlife viewing experiences on the planet.

The last day! Depending on your flight time, you can relax in the lodge a bit longer before heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home. Having second thoughts? It is also possible to add a few days to your holiday by going to one of Tanzanias paradise islands, such as Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia!
